Bakkhai Production Meeting Minutes 6
Date: Thursday, 13.03.2008
In attendance: Tanushka Marah, Julian Deering, Simeon Lewis, Charlotte Atkinson, Emily Dell, Roberta Edwards, Jenny Glithero, Samara Harrison-Moore, Shabana Rehman, Laura Marston, Naomi Wagner, Zoë Walker, Charlene Webster
Absentees: no one absent today
Sound/Music: Zoë has received the CD with the recorded drones with which we have already worked this week. Tanushka has given Zoë the Tarantella and Tigerlillies (for the witches’ scene) CDs and asked her to find a sound track with night sounds and to find or compose a piece for the final scene. She insisted that it should not be too complicated.
Costume: Roberta reported today that the dresses are sorted. Everyone has been measured by her mother and she is now ready to start sewing. Roberta also said that she has got enough money to buy the material. She will bring in a receipt to get a refund for the money.
Roberta and Emily also brought in samples of red, blue and purple felt for Zoë’s, Jenny’s and Charlie’s robes (male costumes). The red felt turns out to be slightly cheaper with £ 2, 50 per meter and the blue and purple felt costs £ 5, 20 per meter. Tanushka seemed to favour the purple felt for the male costumes. Emily and Roberta also had the idea to create grey coloured harem trousers for Zoë, Jenny and Charlie as part of the male costume.
Further the both have brought in samples of body and facial paint (Kryolan Supra Color/Teintschminke – Grease Paint) they have purchased at Charles Fox. The biggest bottle of this body paint costs £ 10, 50 – 11, 00.
Set/Props: Charlie and Shabs have developed the model box further and have exchanged the single moon/orb for three smaller moons (ping pong balls). On set they will use three paper lanterns which are 30’’ diameter. The cost of each is £ 10, 50. Each lantern can be lit and sprayed to change texture and colour. They will purchase the lanterns over the internet. Although the lanterns are very Asian/Oriental looking they will suit the minimalist set very well.
Shabs and Charlie will be working on the set in the first week of our Easter break with Jules and Simeon in TMG-65, and everyone is more than welcome to help them.
The tree, they have decided, will be built out of twigs bind together with wire. The tree will then be painted and decorated with red string.
Marketing/Publicity: Jenny reported that the posters for the play are all visibly pinned up all around London Metropolitan University.
Laura confirmed that the myspace.com blog is set up and ready to use.
Jules promised to finish the e-flyers by tomorrow and send them to all of us.
Lighting: Samara is to meet up with Jules and Tanushka during the Easter break to share and discuss lighting ideas.
Emily and I will be involved in preparing the blocking and lighting queues on paper, which need to be ready by the end of the Easter break.
Any other business: If you are coming into university during the Easter break, please email Jules and Simeon to let them know that you need space.
From now on please bring practice skirts to lessons, as we have to get used to moving in skirts.
Our rehearsal times for the second week of the Easter break will be: Tuesday the 25th, Wednesday the 26th, Thursday the 27th and Friday the 28th of March from 10:00 to 16:00 o’clock.
Please bring a backup picture for the biography part of the programmes, in case you are not able to afford the headshot photo shoot.
